-There used to be a link here. But Woody removed it, because it could be a wrong link-
Here, just download and install this.
If it says something like "You've already got java installed," then there (Should) be a button saying "Reinstall java." Click that.

(Not sure if this is correct. I haven't had a java problem in a while, so I'm not 100% sure what it says. But my point is just reinstall Java, and you should be fine.)

Also, if it doesn't work, you could always try the #1 PC troubleshooting method; Turn off computer. Turn on computer.

EDIT:
Go here: https://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Select the correct version your computer should use. Your problem might be that you installed the incorrect version of Java for your computer.

(If you've got Windows 7 on your computer)
To check whether you have a 64 bit or a 32 bit computer,
1. Click Start
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click System and Security
4. Click System
5. Scroll down to where it says "Operating System"
6: It should say "[64|32]-bit Operating System

Whichever it says is the version you should download.

Connect Account: (Term "Connect" used loosely. There is no way to "Connect" your account, but you are able to have it shown to everyone)
Toward the top-right of the page, there's a "My Account" button. Click that.
Next, click the "Edit Profile" button.
Finally, insert your Minecraft Account Name in the "Minecraft Name" slot.

To join other peoples' servers, first enter the Multiplayer section on the title screen. Click "Add server."
It doesn't matter what you put into the "Server name" slot.
But it DOES matter what you write in the "Server Address" slot. You have to write the server's IP Address (Or whatever website has been linked with the server.)
Click Done, and then you can join the server.

Edit your profile via "My Account" in the top left and enter the name of your Minecraft account.

To join servers, launch Minecraft and login. Start the game and click "Multiplayer". Find a server you want to join and put the server IP in the IP field after clicking to add a new server to your list. Then double click or select the server and click join.

As for "Java not connected", I have no idea what's going on there. Try reinstalling/updating Java. For tutorials on how to do that, use Google.

Welcome to Planet Minecraft! I hope you have fun here!

There isn't any way to connect your Planet Minecraft account to your Minecraft account. However, in your profile settings, you can enter what your Minecraft username is so other people can see!

Joining other people's servers is so easy. Just enter the IP address and join!
