When you download a resource pack, you usually get a zip file. But when I try to download one, the zip file doesn't even show up. It might also be connected to why mine and other people's skins don't show up. they're either Steve or Alex.

If you are using a mac, it is possible that your zips are downloading as folders rather than the zip file that you should get. Seems to be a thing with mac's.
