I got minecraft 5 days ago for the first time and went mod crazy thought i was doing everything right had multiple folders set up in the .minecraft/versions and multiple profiles set up then after a few days it only played offline now i can only play on the default profile still offline this meens no mods or servers what can i do to fix what i broke.

Did you buy the game or just download the trial version?
If you are on windows, go to %appdata% then delete .minecraft, and then start minecraft again Also, i think when you delete .minecraft it doesn't delete a certain fire inside.

Download the old launcher.
Let it download all the files.
Log out and then back into your account on the 1.6.1 launcher.
Play online.

hey this happened to me so many times and the solution is easy all you need to do is when you start up the launcher before you log in click on the log out sign and then click play and this should be back to normal. i hope this helped
