I have done literally everything I could find online to fix Minecraft crashing due to running out of memory even though I have given it 8GB, reinstalled multiple times, set java and javaw executables to run on my graphics card and not my processor, literally everything. I cannot fix it for the life of me and need help from a person, not an outdated youtube video or silly goofy article, please.

For additional context, 64xbit machine, "latest release" default vanilla option in the launcher, have not messed around with any internal files or whatnot with the game, just trying to play it as is when downloaded for the first time (aside from the part where I increased the allocated ram to 8gb).

If you are encountering issues with Openjdk Platform Binary not responding, it can be frustrating and disrupt your work or gameplay experience. The Openjdk Platform Binary is a software platform that is used to run Java applications, and it is widely used across various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. When it stops responding, it usually means that the Java application you are running has encountered an error or has become unresponsive.

Some info on your pc specs would be nice. As someone else pointed out, you don't want to allocate 8GB if your entire computer only has 8GB. Some more context about when the crash happens would be useful as well, does it immediately crash whenever you launch or does it crash sometime after launch like while playing?

After a quick google search, graphics card drivers could be the problem so you should make sure they are up to date. I know you said "not an outdated youtube video or silly goofy article, please", but if you haven't yet please have a look at this article. I don't know of how much help it will be, and I've never had this problem myself, so decide for yourself what you want to try. In the end these are just my best guesses on what looks like might help.

Hmm, the game should run fine out of the box on 3GB, so i don't see why there's a problem. Well, try looking on help.minecraft.net/hc to see if anyone else has had the same problem, and if your pc has 8GB of ram, I suggest allocating at most 6GB and closing memory intensive applications like chrome
