This is caused by a texture pack or shader, remove that shader or texture pack, and your minecraft should work! If that doesnt work, try re-downloading optifine with ad-block on, and if you dont have ad-block, go get it! (Ad-block is for reducing virus downloads)

A pro player knows how to optimize the graphic settings without Optifine..
As a pro player myself I can share my knowledge.
Set your settings to the following settings
Graphics: Fast
Smooth Lightning: OFF
3D: Always OFF
GUI: Doesn't really matter, but try Small and work your way up.
Brightness: Moody
Particles: Minimal
VSync: OFF
VBOs: OFF
Render Distance: 2 Chunks
Max framerate: 30 fps, but increase it to 60 if you can/want
View Bobbing: OFF
Attack Indicator: Doesn't matter
Clouds: OFF
Fullscreen: OFF, maximized window is better
Mipmap: OFF
Entity Shadows: OFF

Now you should get your maximum fps. if you have 30-ish, increase the max framerate to atleast 60 and see if the fps increase. If it does, amp up the settings like render distance, particles, entity shadows, bobbing, VBOs and smooth lightning. However changing to Fancy graphics might not work unless you have a mid-end graphics card, so don't play with that. Try to find your perfect fit. And if the fps drops, just lower some settings a bit and get that sweet 60fps
If you don't get more than 30fps with the lowest settings in the spoiler I'd recommend not increasing anything. Hope this helps

a "pro" player would know that VBOs shouldn't be turned off, and mostly negatively impacts performance when it is turned off

Well this heavily depends on your computer. Older computers might not get a performance boost, which I think they have. VBO, in short, lets the video card render vertex objects and reduces stress off of the processor. This is mostly an advantage, yes, but only if the video card can handle it.
And sorry for the "pro player" thing. But I just wanted to make a point that you don't need to use Optifine to max out the fps, as many people think. Mostly they think Optifine solves it for you, but if you can't optimize the settings like I showed 98% of the times it wont make a difference, or even make it worse. I wasn't trying to trigger anyone

OptiFine usually updates within a month of the latest version release, lol. You can bet they're working on a version for 1.11 (which is stupid mind you, it should be 2.0 by now) as we speak.

It really shouldn't be 2.0 the numbers after 1 and the decimal only mean it is that number of update for that version. So they are developing the mod for the 11th update of minecraft 1.0

He mean't he is using the latest version of optifine for 1.8. Try using another mod that reduces lag such as fastcraft fps+ or just try running minecraft without optifine.

Well, i do not know what that all means, but if playing with optifine causes hardcore lag, then just try it without optifine. BTW it isn't a good idea to drink chemicals.
