Optifine without Forge?
I'd like to use the latest version of Optifine for 1.14.4 (HD U F5) but don't want to use a mod launcher such as Forge. Is it possible, or do I need a od launcher? (I have the .jar version, not the .exe.)

I can't remember if optifine comes with an installer or not, but It used to be that you could manually install a single mod. Haven't done it that way in years so I'm not sure if it still works for forge mods.

- Open your minecraft.jar for 1.14.4
- Delete meta.inf file
- Copy mod files into the jar file (not the .zip itself but all the files and folders inside the .zip)
- Run that version
Download it from the optifine website
Just double click it.
That just prompts me to use an app to open the .jar file, which I don't have.
That didn't work. It says there's an error in Optifine and to check that the "commands" are right before retrying.
