So I staff this server that is a branch server of this huge server corporation and since the owner has to transfer the server files (maps and all) to another computer, all the servers were down for approximately 2 weeks. In the meantime all our regulars left on us or moved to other servers from the corporation. The servers are back up but our player count has gone down from 20 players on average to 2-4. With such a decrease we all doubt we will be able to generate enough revenue to keep the servers and their respective websites all going for a few more months.
We are in need of tips to help advertise or tips to help get more players on our servers altogether. Also our players are saying it's getting a little boring. What can we do to put more fun into our server?
Also, I currently staff a Survival/PvP Server with not many plugins aside from anti-hack/grief/spam plugins.

I'm looking for ways to advertise without being rude.
Try deleting them, then reposting them on server websites, also in your signature, put in your server ip, like say i could make my signature ~In2 Owner of: <ServerIP> also go on other servers that you dont play on, advertise, you might get banned but its worth it! also you can go to other servers, tell that server owner if you advertise my server, i will advertise your server, or give you a cool rank! A lot of those methods are considered rude and in some cases even lead your server worse off than before. If you're so desperate that you need to feed off of other people's successes, then it's time to shut down your server.
