Mojang often intend to fix these problems by releasing 1.5.1.
1.5 is full of bugs.. its so sloppy
Especially the weird repeater bug where it doesn't work when powered by daylight sensor, redstone, anything redstony
There will be a 1.5.1 Bug Fix release next week as stated on www.mojang.com
[MC-11236] Paintings popping out / cannot place new ones
Also theres a pretty cool bug if you put a bunch of paintings ontop of eachother it will glitch out and look like a scrambled TV.

Just a bug, expect a small update soon to fix that and other bugs.
