Hello, so recently I have been setting up my permissions for my new (W.I.P) server.
I followed a video that showed the correct way to make the permissions. (Video here:www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyYPi1zzUx0) I got everything setup and got on the server. I had alreready defined myself as owner (in permissions config) but did not have the prefix... So I tried doing some commands... didn't work. In console when I tried setting my rank (pex group Owner user add choas1010 )but it just showed me the commands. I belive I have everything setup correctly but here's some useful information to go with it: NOTE: Server has 1 Gigabyte but I can add more

To set yourself to the owner group:
/pex user <username> group set <groupname>
Keep in mind the groups are case sensitive and this is a great webpage to reference for in game commands.

If you're prefix isn't showing up do /pex user <username> groups to see what groups you are in or is it /pex user <username>. Also if you're using PEX's chat manager, you have to go into Its config and set the prefixes to enabled.

Pex is just pex.
it works on my server just fine. some people get problems that cant be fixed. other people just hate it.

While I respect mbaxter for the document, and even though it is all true, I still stand to say that from a user endpoint, PEX is an amazing plugin. The fact of it's own bukkit-breaking code is a sad one, and really the only thing holding the plugin back..
Try using the development build, found straight from their bukkit.org thread: http://webbukkit.org/jenkins/packages/P ... ackage.zip
A bug within the 1.19.5 version is unfortunately the breaking of the Bukkit.sendMessage() method, which can affect things like chat. Also, remove/disable ChatManager, and let EssentialsChat work instead.

What pex version are you using?
Also to note, group manager is up-to-date on the essential's download site. Though personally, I don't recommend either plugin. However I'm still happy to help you to get it working

I am using version 1.19.5 (I belive it is most recent)
Remove permissionsEX and get groupmanager. It is 100 times easier and you can adjust the permissions ingame.

As far as I know it is outdated (something like 1.2.5) and the bukkit page is removed. Any other suggestions?
