So I wanted to play the latest Pixelmon mod update and I needed to use and download Forge for 1.8.9 since the mod only works for this version.
Whenever I open Forge for 1.8.9, Minecraft opens up quickly and with no problem.
But whenever I add the Pixelmon mod into the "mod" folder and boot it up I have problems. I open Forge and then everything crashes.
Now I followed instructions all over the internet and it seems I'm not the only one with this problem but for many it's resolved but the problem still remains for me.
Here are some infos that you should know:
-I have Windows 8
-I have a 64 bit Java
-I set the game up for 2GB per ram (I somehow am only sometimes able to put it on 4GB)
-My version for Forge 1.8.9 is 1.8.9 - 11.15.1.1722

Solved the problem. I re did the exact same thing I did before.
I just changed into the latest java that was released TODAY and it worked.

When I hit play on the Technic Launcher it won't even boot up Minecraft.
After I downloaded Pixelmon wehn I hit play it just refreshes the Technic Launcher and Minecraft doesn't even start up.

Is Technic safe and reliable? And have one of you already tried using it for the latest version of Pixelmon?
well if hes happy to use a pack that been illegally put together then yea he can go ahead
Oh and the technic mod pack that has pixelmon 4.2.7 is called Optifine & Pixelmon 1.8.9. If you don't want the optifine then after you install it using the technic launcher just go into it's mod folder and take it out.
And how does Technic work?
And are you sure it has Pixelmon ver 4.2.7
And are you sure it has Pixelmon ver 4.2.7
How technic works is you download the launcher from the website and you boot it up. Technic has thousands or millions of mod packs including a few official ones that are fun to play. Other people can also make mod packs, and you can search for theirs in a search bar in the technic launcher and it will automatically download once you click "Install" for their mod packs.
Tons of people have also made pixelmon mod packs with just pixelmon inside of them for people to use as an installer instead of just downloading that other pixelmon launcher that isn't even compatible with Mac.

I don't want to download just any version of Pixelmon. I want to download the latest it's because it's part of a sever I use t be in which updated into the latest version.
The latest is on technic.
I once tried the Pixelmon launcher and it makes you download some stupid files for an eternity. It was downloading some ridiculous amount of files for 5 hours.
How does multi MC work?
How does multi MC work?
Just try technic. You download technic then in the technic launcher you just search up any mod pack or anything, so just type in pixelmon and you should see some mod packs that download pixelmon for you. It also has it's own folders, so it won't edit any folders for your default minecraft.
Technic is also much more well known than MultiMc
Technic is also much more well known than MultiMc
also 99% of the packs on that arnt legal ones, the pack creators need the mod authors permission to redistribute the mods,a nd pixelmon doesnt give that out
You aren't going to be punished for downloading a mod pack that didn't get permission, the only type of punishment that might come is the mod pack being removed.
already given u 2
multiMC
pixelmon launcher
multiMC
pixelmon launcher
What different launcher?
then try using a difrent launcher then?
i always use multiMC and ive NEVER had crash issues with pixelmon, or any other mod unless theres a real problem with the mod like in correct forge version or mc version

I only have one mod in my mod folder and it's the Pixelmon mod.
And no I didn't use the Pixelmon launcher. I placed the mod manually in my mods folder.

No I did it manually. I downloaded forge and added the recent mod version into the mod folder and Minecraft crashes on start up.
Please post any crash logs so we can effectively figure out this issue. There are always logs so don't say there are not.
