Pixelmon Download Help

Hello, I am trying to download pixelmon I have gone onto the website, and downloaded the mod, but for some reason, it doesnt come out as a winRAR file, but instead as a .jar program. When I try to change the file into winRAR, it says the path does not exist.
Please help!

ok, now i have everything installed, but my minecraft keeps crashing. what should i do?

I have no idea what anyone is talking about

but this is how you install pixelmon

1. get the 1.6.4 version of forge (installer version is the best)
2. run the 1.6.4 version of forge...select client from the dropdown
3. go to appdata/Roaming/.minecraft/mods if the mods folder doesn't exist create one
4. put the pixelmon.jar into the mods folder
5. open your minecraft launcer
6. select profile forge
7. press play

ok, I have fixed this problem, but when I open minecraft, it says the mod is not installed. I have put it in the mods folder, but why does it not show?

Have you copied .minecraft then deleted the original, and then pasted the Pixelmon mod into the copy of .minecraft's mods folder? If not, try that.

yes, i have. But, it says that there are only 3 mods, not four.

How I did it, I downloaded it, opened it, got rid of META-INF (if there is one), put it in mods folder then..... ta-da...



I use Forge.

it comes as a jar file

the jar files goes in your mods folder just like any zip don't open it don't edit it don't look at it..just put it in your mods folder

Don't forget, for that way, you need Forge Mod Loader.

Also if you don't want to do that. Right click that Jar file (Most Minecraft files are Jar) and then click Open With -> Java Platform (whatever). It should bring up an install window, and just do that. But if you do the Technic way, it's easier and it sets everything up for you, even with servers.

Search and download the TechnicLauncher (Minecraft ultimate mod client), and then "Add New Pack" and insert the platform url for the pixelmon pack and download and install, then ENJOY!
