Ah, what version of Minecraft are you? the Patchers aren't updated to 1.4 yet, so your texture packs won't be patched, sorry about that. So my only suggestion is to wait or downgrade, the latter of which seems a bit over the top for a texture pack.

Heyo, I can very easily help you with this, if nobody has yet.

So, on the Minecraft Main menu, select 'Texture Packs'

Click on 'Open texture pack folder'- What this does is to open up the normally hidden Minecraft folders in Finder.

Now, when you look at this finder window, check the top. There should be a group of four Icons. Click the third from the left. This will show all the enclosing folders of Minecraft. From here you can 'drag and drop' your downloaded texture packs.

NOTE: drop them into texture packs, not texture packs cache. Also, some texture packs require patchers, such as Optifine or mcpatcher. Download these and update your texture packs through their GUI.

Now unfortunatley I'm not as confident in my Mod explanation. Basically the same process, but look in your inclosed Minecraft folder- there will be a Mods folder. Drag and drop your mods into there. To Run them download Modloader.

To Put World Saves into your Minecraft, Drag and Drop the World Save Files into the enclosed World Save folder
