I created a Minecraft server for my younger brother but I just can't get anyone to join. Please if you have any suggestions as to how to advertise it let me know because I'm lost. The server is 100% vanilla (no plugins because I have no idea how to use them) smp server with a custom lobby made with the use of a function pack and command blocks. Please respond quickly because he's really upset that no one is joining.

A full vanilla SMP is too saturated in the scheme of servers. Not many people will join it even if you advertise it because of the sheer amount of the same type of servers.
It technically is full vanilla, but I believe the lobby made using commands and Redstone is unique since full vanilla SMP servers don't have a lobby with different activities that you can warp to with commands - /trigger Lobby (in my case).
Put your server on websites like:
planetminecraft.com
minecraftservers.org
topminecraftservers.org
(there are a bunch more but im too lazy to list all of them)
also it might be a good idea to learn how to install plugins and get one that lets you protect your spawn, otherwise anyone can grief it

I tried some of those a couple of days ago but no luck. Also I'm ok with greifing and hacking.
If you're ok with greifing and hacking, then less people will join, as not everyone enjoys their house to be greifed/robbed and to be spawnkilled at spawn like 2b2t
You can also try advertising your server in server ads, in the chat. That room is specifically made for server related stuff, especially server ads. :)
