Please Help me with commands

Hey, so i am working on Smoke Bombs for minecraft java 1.12.2, and i am trying to use command blocks, and i am also trying to make the item either an egg or a snowball, and i am trying to use the / Execute command, to summon smoke particles.
But my problem is that it lags the game... A lot, so i need a command that makes it lag the game The Least amount possible
and it needs to be in the Right amount of range and amount of particles, to make it so that the opponent player cannot see anything
and it has to use particles
Can someone help me out?
and the command that i am using is :
/execute @e[type=Egg] ~ ~ ~ /particle smoke ~ ~ ~1 3 3 3 1 60000
