Please help me out here :(??With a server problem

So i have PermissionsEX and everytime I add a new line in like
groups:
default:
default: true
permissions:
- modifyworld.*

Thats the default permissions.And this is my hole plugins:CommandSigns,essentials,LWC,PermissionsEx,PluginMetrics,PrisonMine,PrisonSuite,WorldEdit.Thats all my plugins and every time I add a permission in like
groups:
default:
default: true
permissions:
- modifyworld.*
- essentials.*
The -essentials is what i added in
every time I add "ANYTHING" in I get the same thing
