hey guys I'm hoping someone can help me with my problem. I port forwarded my server properly (according to http://portforward.com/english/routers/ ... Server.htm) and allowed an inbound TCP rule for 25565 through my firewall, but still, only I can join it. I got my friends to try joining using my IPV4 and IPchicken IP's, with and without :25565, but still nobody can join. I know its not the server, because it ran perfectly with Hamachi, so it must be something to do with my firewall or router (I also turned my firewall off and got my friends to try and join, same deal, with and without 25565) I also tested all my IP's on https://dinnerbone.com/minecraft/tools/status/ and it said none of them were working, can someone help me? I know this is the most common issue with Minecraft servers, so I'm hoping someone with hands on server making experience can help me with this.

There are two possible problems that I can see. First off, try allowing inbound UTP connections to your port, and checking the server.properties to make sure the port is correct.
Secondly, you could have a dynamic ip. To fix this, get a no-ip domain. Really good little program, very easy to set up.

check ur server.properties, turn off whitelist and look under server-port=<whatever port u choose> that it says the same port num that u port forwarded, thats usually the largest problem that i come accross, but my server now works

Above pretty much covers things. I'll add one more bit.

Another course you may want to look at (giving your raw IP is in any case not the best idea on the net...) is getting a no-ip domain. If I recall correctly, it's free and relatively simple.

So your computer's local IP is static. If not, make it so. Should be under DHCP reservations. Portforward 25565 to the local IP you just made static. Make sure your friends connect with your public IP. Make sure your firewall allows connections. Make sure your antivirus is allowing it.

It's definitely your external IP you're using, if I might be so bold to ask what might come across as a dumb question?
