Calling all server owners,
Hi I have an iPhone 3G with a data connection and I was wondering if it is actually possible to run a full Minecraft server through my 3G connection to run the server or do I have to run it through the wifi modem? Please answer.

Phone data connection runs to slow. I sometimes play minecraft on the bus with a wifi tether to my phone. But that is pretty laggy.

So use my wifi modem not my phone, ok thanks.
1. there are not server softwares for phones for a reason... it wil burn the proccessor of a phone in seconds(or you know... it willl just not work xD)
2. if you have 100$/ month only then you can pay for the bandwith minecraft servers use

umm im not sure if there is an actual way to use ur 3g iphone (keep in mind that servers use huge data transmitions like 1 or 2 gigabytes/10 mins) but if you insist there is some devices that turn your 3g to wifi. --> http://www.win-star.com/eshop/goods.php?id=120 but as well as you know the wifi is not the best way for servers it slows em down. so if you ask me i recomend to use a WIERD conection straight to router.
