I have a feeling that this may be either a Texture pack thing, or an Optifine thing.
But on my favorite texture pack (Will Pack) there is a glitche that i was wondering if anyone knew how to solve.
The sides of Quarts blocks/Slabs/Stairs display a black and purple checkered texture instead of the correct texture. When they are connected together it's fixed but the one at the end of the line still has it on one side.
It's just a little sad because Quarts is such a great building material i feel like i have to try and not use it because of this x:
I noticed that in another 32x32 texture pack such as faithful, quarts shows up just fine though. and both texture packs have a correctly named image for the side of quarts.
Thank you

purple and black is the default texture that means the name of the quarts block side texture is not found it is probably a name error so try going into the texture pack files and tinkering with every thing that says quarts on it
Is there a way that i can make the texture myself?
Or is it more complex than just having a picture in the right folder?

I think you should be able to. Also, you might want to make sure you have the most recent version of the pack downloaded
I would just suggest to use another texture pack.
It's the texture for a missing texture. Whether it's an Optifine or Will Pack issue, I don't know.
It would be a texture pack issue.
If i am correct the purple and black checker pattern is a texture given to blocks or items that dont have a texture.
Its texture pack oriented. Use a different pack. Sorry m8.
