Quad Core Support Mod?
So, i was wondering if there any mods out there that make Minecraft support more than 1 core. I have a AMD processer that is 1.3 Ghz, but its quad core. so my minecraft can skip when a chunk loads or updates.
And also, does my graphics card, AMD Radeon 8280 good enough for minecraft? 4 GB of RAM good enough?
I would love a Planet Minecraft staff who knows about this stuff to answer. But it is okay if you know, I just want answers

First, Minecraft can and does support multi-core processors. The game itself is multi-threaded, although the additional threads are not used for world processing.
In regards to your processor, having 4 cores is beneficial for the client side of the game but the processors speed is the primary factor in determining how your PC will run the game. Personally I would recommend using a processor that is at least 2.3 Ghz and multiple cores.
Now if you usually play on servers instead of single player, your PC will do less processing which will speed up the game, however your internet speed will then be a factor in lag.
Although it is possible to create a mod the makes parts of the game asynchronous, but that would be an extremely difficult task, especially not having the original source code and knowing all of it's implementations.
Back to hardware, your graphics card is not ideal for Minecraft and I would highly recommend upgrading your entire PC if you intend to use it for gaming. For graphics you will want something with at least 1GB of dedicated video RAM, ideally 2GB GDDR5 and at minimum a 1Ghz GPU.
I notice that this is a notebook graphics chipset, I personally would not suggest playing Minecraft on a laptop. Often times manufacturers sell laptops with underclocked hardware and it's usually not that good in the first place.
As for PC RAM, you only need 1GB to run Minecraft, 2GB will help but nothing more is really necessary unless you start installing bunch of mods. Keep in mind though, when allocating memory the the game, Java can only use as much RAM as your PC has or 1.5GB if using a 32-bit version. If you have a 32-bit PC then this is the most you can possibly use for anything Java. If you have a 64-bit PC but no 64-bit Java, you will have the same issue.
In conclusion, you should be able to play with all of the settings turned to Low but I would not recommend playing Minecraft on your PC.

if i build a desktop, what parts would be good to run minecraft at least normal render distance, fancy graphics, and minimum shading?
As far as I'm aware there is no mod to do this, however if you know what your doing, there are specific arguments in the launcher you can use to increase the allocated RAM and maximum usage on your PC's CPU.
Also on the question is your 4gb GPU good enough for MineCraft, the answer is yes, MineCraft defaults runs on the allocated 1024mb ( 1gb ), I wouldn't advise allocating all 4gb to your game. However if you were to allocate another gigabyte your game will run a lot smoother.
