Question regarding Mod Block IDs
I've been searching the web for 1.7.10 Mod Block IDs and came upon a curiosity, that being some mods use some sort of dynamic ID assigning system? (Am I wrong about this?)
Raises a few concerns of mine since i'm working on a world painter map where I want to paint in Mod Block ores using the underground pockets special layer.
If I were to open the entire mod pack I was using in minecraft and use NEI to determine block IDs, will that be the correct way to do it?
If I add/remove a mod will these mods with a sort of dynamic ID assigning feature just change their IDs upon pack alteration or will they stay the same?
What about cross-player compatibility? If it's ID 243 for me, would it also be ID 243 for someone else or will it generate a different number for them?
I've been searching for a bit and found no direct answer to this (or i've been searching wrong). Can someone shed some light for me on this dynamic ID issue?
Much appreciated. Very much so.
