Hey Guys So i Have been thinking about making a server. Not just any server but one with a custom mod pack. See what my goal is to make it as if you were just living life.I would have customnpc mod so i can make shops and drug dealers ect. I would have a furnitures mod a food mod vehicles mod and more so it can get as realistic as possible. There are some problems though.

Problems
I don't know how to make a server without port fowarding or hamachi.
I don't have enough money to rent a server.
I can't get some good mods for this.

Solutions
If someone would be kind enough to mod for this project that would be awesome.
If i can find someone who can help me get a server running I can actually start the project
I can get some people off of planet minecraft to help.

I think if i put time into this i can create something fantastic.
The reason I'm doing this is because i love games that you can do almost anything that you can in real life since you don't have the opportunity too.

This sounds like a fantastic idea. I would play this server, problem is... What are people going to donate for?

This seems a little bit of a dream that isn't going to happen I support that people are trying to have some creativity with mods and multiplayer but before you even try to get people's support you should find the mods you need and get permission for there use if you got it big enough you may "May" be able to get a server provider to provide a free server if they get the donations etc
I already have some mods in mind. but for a mod pack you don't need permission do you? no copyright there
Yes you need permission from the mod developers to use there mods inside a modpack
and making them compatable isnt that hard if its only id mis-matches its easy but anything internal with the mods .class files would be really hard to fix plus need permission to edit then redistribute
Yes this all makes sense. But its still possible. the first thing I'm gonna need to do is get a server that can support mods if i want
get flans mod for vehicles and guns if you want minecraft comes alive for family realism custom npc like you said flenix city stuff and craefishes furniture mod and such
I can help make some things you were talking about without mods. These won't get outdated like plugins or mods might.

how do you plan to manage the server if you cant even afford to rent 1 there are lots of fees that come in to play when running a server such as advertising and plugin development
you don't need to pay for advertisments and i know a guy who was actually doing really succesful with a plugin dev who worked for free but the server host is down
can't you download different versions of mods
only if the modder has the download up
Google the "realism survival mod" Might be kinda cool.
Thank you. The thing is the mods have to be compatible with each-other. and have to be in the same version.

I think it's a good idea, and you should try mods live Flenixcities, Flenixroads, Minecraft comes alive, or MrCrayFishes Furniture mod.
