So, one day, I was messing around with the new setting of minecraft in 1.4.2, when I stumbled upon the full screen button, I clicked it, and my screen went black, I pushed escape, and it went to normal size, but still black screened. Every time I try minecraft, it black screens and full screens after the Mojang sign, has anyone had similar encounters and/or know how to fix it?

your best bet is to go to your %appdata%, and delete everything in the .minecraft folder, except your game saves. There is likely some sort of corruption in your files, and forcing a complete reinstall will fix the issue.
if you don't know how to get to the %appdata% (and assuming you're playing on a PC) you click the windows button, go to the run box at the bottom of the menu and type %appdata% and it'll take you there
