Reducing lag on my server.

Hello people, i am soon going to have a grand opening of my server. But in our beta periods we had real lag problems. We have 6 GB of RAM put in the server (we have 32)
and the internet ( biggest lag causer ) is going to be improved. But then i realised it might not be enough, and NoLagg only causes more lag on my server. Are there any ideas to reduce server, like reducing amount of internet usage or.. making more space on your computer. Any ideas besides hosting is more then welcome.
