Resource Packs?

Do I have to create a new folder for each one in the Versions folder of Minecraft? I did it with TMI so I was wondering if the resource/texture packs worked the same way. There's not that many videos out there explaining how to do this the easy way. x.x

Nope, You just put it in the resource pack folder
No, put it in the resource packs folder and it will stay forever. -_-
