My server is runing on Ubuntu as its OS. I have tried using the .sh files to no avail. I need to know how to get /restart working. This is nessasary so i can Have it restart every so many hours so it doesnt get too laggy.

What do you mean you tried using the .sh files? What did you try?
Using a wrapper to restart your server would be better, most have scheduled tasks.
