Scoreboard stat not counting in the Nether world - HELP!

Hi guys,
Got a problem which I cannot think how to solve. I use the stat.timeSinceDeath to count how long players have survived for without dying.
But the score wont work outside of the normal overworld. The score does not increment in the nether or the end and when you die it doesn't reset.
Have you guys come across this, im using spigot 1.8.
