Server doesn't start

I don't even know any more.
I've always had problems getting servers to work but today I thought I'd try again so I delete the old server software, downloaded the latest one from the official website and tried to start it and it doesn't actually start properly.
I pops up for maybe half a second, not even enough time for me to read it, before it simply closes itself. It doesn't even start for long enough to unpack all the files it needs. I have tried both updating my Java and running as Administrator, but it has no effect.

I don't have access to any of it, the software doesn't even start for long enough for it to unpack. Also, I'm using the latest version (1.7.10)

Can you try to add
at the last line in your start script, and you should be able to see the error message.
