Server, How can I get more people?

I'm trying to get more people on my server, but I've posted it on several sites like MCforum, yogscast, etc. But I have not been getting much traffic, I'm looking for a way to get more people without spamming my server everywhere. Alot of the people on the server love it, but they say we need a bigger population. If you can help that would be great!
