Hi, I am planning to make a Minecraft server in an older Minecraft version like 1.0 or 1.2 but I couldn't find any downloads for servers and also most hosters only worked up to version 1.6 and not further. But I know that there are still some (but not many) Minecraft servers with older versions. So now my question: Is there a possibility to open a Minecraft Server in an old version today? Maybe you have one yourself or know how to do it.

It offers the client jar and server jar files. However some versions below 1.2 don't have server downloads so you'd need to go online elsewhere or use the new Minecraft launcher to download them as oakar258 has stated.

You can download server software directly from launcher when editing profile/installation in the installations tab (SERVER text above version selection box on the right), the oldest version it supports is 1.2.5

I'm not sure, It might be difficult to find the software for older versions, even Minecraft Wiki does not contain links for it in articles about older versions.
