I have been try to play with my friends on my server. but whenever we play, we get around 10fps in flat terrain!!!.
Normally i get 60-80fps.
my netbook is a
dell latitude d430.
64bit
2GB RAM
Prossessor: Intel(R)Core(TM)2 Duo U7700 @1.33Ghz
any help would be apreciated.
by the way.
when i run the batch file which runs the server with 1GB, my laptop Lags Really Bad.
and still have lag. so i really dont agree with going with ram.
is there any other type of server hosting thing? Lol.

i configure my server launcher, now it runs it properlly. but when i play mc it lags like hell, aroung 8-20fps. while my friends get 100fps.
also i changed my window vista settings to window vista basics. so now i can run minecraft with a little less lag. it helped atleast. but now i need to be able to play.could i use task manager whenever i open a server and make the minecraft a higher priority?

No you need to use dedicated ram, so just the 2gb that's in your netbook. How many people are connecting at once? It sounds like you just don't have the system resources (RAM, processor etc) to run a minecraft server and minecraft at the same time.

i use the minecraft server.jar that minecraft.net/download gives.
also i use a netbook. and my netbook max ram is 2gb, since the motherboard cannot exceed 2GB. however my netbook has a SD Card slot. could i use some gb from my sd card(which i will get if recquired)?

Maybe get more ram on your computer? The ram you use on the server uses the computer ram, which makes you have low FPS. Or lower the server ram usage.

By the way my netbook only has 2Gb Ram. and i tried using 512mb still my laptop would lag. but anyways thanx.

Also might I add: make the RAM on the server lower as the netbook may not have engnough RAM to function.
A good way of running a server is running the server on a seperate computer. It would benefit you and the server.

Also, don't you have a Computer as Laptops are not the best option to run a sever, it really isn't, but the tweaked should help you
