First question: Can a mod such as Custom NPC be run successfully on a bukkit server? I have seen conflicting information - or at minimum confusing information.

Regardless - let's assume I run Custom NPC on a server. As this is a mod, do players need to instal the mod on their own computers to play?

Sorry for the noob questions. It is hard to search for answers she you don't necessarily know the right words to be looking for. I appreciate any help you are willing to provide.

I forgot to say thank you... requiring something to be installed client-side is a deal-breaker for me, but I appreciate that you took the time to answer my question.

For your first question, Bukkit servers don't as default support mods alongside. The easiest thing to do to get it to work is to use something called MCPC, which is a custom version of bukkit with patches to allow the running of forge mods alongside plugins, you can find the site here http://mcportcentral.co.za/wiki/index.p ... =Main_Page . You can find the different MCPC server versions here http://ci.md-5.net/job/MCPC-Plus/ . Download and install the correct version for what you need, and should be able to run your mods and plugins alongside each other.

As for your second question, yes, players do need to install it client side in order to come on the server.
