1.4.2 server plugins?
Hi everyone, so I'm trying to set up a 1.4.2 server with plugins... I have the server, but no plugins... I'm pretty sure it's vanilla, so, does anyone know how to add plugins on a 1.4.2 vanilla server? (I'm kind of a noob at servers so... ) So yeah... if anyone knows how, please respond to this... and you will get a better chance at becoming an admin/mod on my server; that is IF you apply... Anyway, thanks for reading this, and if you know, please tell me Thanks.

Again, if you want a server with plugins, you need to go to the bukkit website, download the latest craftbukkit server (which is only at 1.3.2 at the minute) then go to the 'get plugins' part of the website and download which plugins you want. Start up the server with a batch file on windows using notepad or a command file on mac with text edit- on linux, i dont know. If you want to know what these commands are, they are on minecraft wiki. once yo start up the server, files will generate. stop the server, put your 'in game name' in the ops.txt, and go into the server propeties and put in your ip beside ip-address and then close that and start the server up using the command, then put the plugins into the plugins folder and type into the server command box 'reload'. this will load the plugins you want, this is a very complex version, go onto minecraft wiki and type in 'how to set up a bukkit server'. If this helps at all, let me know.
Plugins are really easy, if your server is up I can help you with almost anything you need except the plugin configs, i'm not good at those myself. But besides that I own my own server and might be of some use.
Yeah I'm having the same problem, I can't figure out how to use plugins and I much less no where to find them!
But it says the IP is 5.30.241.43:25565 ... so try em' both!
I'm not exactly sure if it's up or anything but the IP is 76.120.12.191:25565 and I need help working on the buildings and such... But like I said I'm not sure if it's working yet... but you can try if you want.

Do you want mods or plugins? If you want plugins...
Go to http://bukkit.org/ and get the CraftBukkit server - you will need a command to start it up, look it up on the interwebs, but the new update for it is not out yet - carry on looking on the website every so often, it will come soon, then download the plugins you want on the 'get plugins' section of the website.
If you want mods, then I cannot help you, because I have tried, it worked then it crashed and lagged all the time. just wait for Bukkit 1.4.2 to be released.
