Server Setup Help / Fix
For the better part of two weeks now, I've owned a 4gb VPS running duel core Xeon x3450 @2.67ghz. Since, I've been trying to run a simple 2gb Bukkit server. Since day 1, I have had one issue after another that I can never seem to get past. Thus I am coming to you guys.
My first issue appeared to be not enough memory, when I wasn't specifying how much memory for java to use. Thus I added the -Xms and -Xmx syntax to the start.sh script. For a few days, this seems to fix my problem, then the dreaded WARNING message began coming back to the point where my server would lock up. Mind you, I've never had more then myself on it as I've been trying to get things set up, as well as am only using CommandBook. I also noticed that the server only begins to lag and lock up when for some reason, it starts using swap space.
From there, I removed the -Xmx syntax and upped the -Xms2048m. Once again, for a couple days, everything was fine, then the problem came back...
Finally, a couple days ago, I wrote a restart script that runs every night at midnight. ONCE AGAIN, fixed things till yesterday, where since then, the problem has only been getting worse. It's now to the point where I can't run the server for more then ~10min before it jumps my swap space usage to almost 500mb as well as kicks me from playing. Not to mention, the VPS itself begins to become sluggish and unresponsive.
If anyone has ANY helpful hints, I'd be more then happy to hear. Thank you in advance.

You should get a host to help you that would be the easiest way
For a little while, I was with Max's MC Servers, but then I moved to a VPS as I wanted a little more control over my server, as well as wanted something I could use with other games too. Not to mention, this 4GB VPS was only $3/mo more then what I was paying him for a 2GB MC Server running Multicraft.
Regardless though, I was hoping that some of the host owners would know something and be able to at least point me in the right direction. Prof. Google isn't helping this time...
