Server Specs Needed

What specs would be needed for a spigot (maybe Bukkit) server with 5-10 people, and possibly a couple other small plugins?
I plan to start a small server just for me and some friends to play on and really just do whatever on, building, minigames, etc.
I have been in contact with a person who can host, but they just need to know the specs that will be needed. I would like this server to be mostly lag-free.

OOIAmSavedOOMan, for just a 5-10 player server, you can use pretty much anything.

I suggest this host: http://www.hosthorde.com very cheap and reliable! If you aren't interested in paying, just look at THEIR specs and see what is recommended hehe.

This is true but if your wanting some plugins and your going to use world edit. Use spigot and set it to 1 gig. Be careful it can crash easy. But if you want to make sure your not going to crash by using worledit or etc... Use about 2 to 3 gigs.

Well I know that, but I don't want a crappy thing, I just need to know what to tell this guy that might be able to host it for me the specs needed for a Spigot or Bukkit server, and fairly lag-free, for 5-10 people.

I've said in the previous reply above already, any processor above or equivalent to an i3-2120 would be sufficient. You *may* be able to get away with 1 GB ram, but 2 would be good enough.

Well anything will pretty much work SBSolar, even a crappy mac processor could do the job for just 10 of your friends.

You wouldn't want to be comparing with a server host's specs as they do run many servers on a single box. You can get well over 10 players even with an i3-2120, dual Xeon E5-2687W's would be incredibly overkill and unnecessary(They're also almost up to $2,000 each).

With 5-10 people you can probably get away with 1 GB ram.
