I want to host a private survival mc server/realm thing for me and my friends, but i'm not sure weather to go to one of those server hosting companies, or to use realms, what should I do?

Go for a server, they can be a little more difficult to set up, but another free host is server.pro and they managed to hide most technical details. The only not-as-flush part is that you have to modify server.properties in a text editor, instead of a fancy dashboard. The server.properties is a text file containing a couple settings for your server.
