Setting up servers with a router booster?
I have been trying to play Skylands survival with a friend. I've made servers before on the computer we have downstairs which is right next to the router--we bought a booster to put upstairs so the connection would reach my laptop, but it seems there is a different method for setting up servers while connected to a booster, because my friend can't connect. I've set up port-forwarding and all. Help?

And select "javaw.exe"

Could you explain in a bit more detail? I've never used McAfee Internet Security Suite before, so I'm a bit of a newb, and Google isn't helping.

Yes if you allow javaw.exe or something with java in it. Start minecraft client and press Ctrl+alt+Del
Click on processes and press "j" until you find the java process.

It seems the extender was not indeed the problem... I've disabled my McAfee firewall and it works like a charm now. Thing is, I don't really want to turn off my firewall every time I open a server. Is there some way to configure permissions so that Minecraft (or Java) is able to surpass the firewall?

Oh ok I see now. So port forwarding is not setup correctly. Did you booster come with instructions on how to port forward or anything like that?
Hm... It may have. I'm pretty sure I threw away the box though I'll try to look online, and if I can't find it I'll turn my house upside down in search of that one elusive box...
The booster itself is not connected to any computer, it's more like a second router, only it mirrors the SSID rather than duplicate it. I've tried what you said, and it says the port is closed--"the connection timed out."
Go to http://canyouseeme.org on the computer with your router booster and enter in 25565.
