Should my PC handle Minecraft?

I have recently received my pc and I've been wanting to test out a few games. So the first game was Minecraft and when I tried it it was somewhat laggy and wasn't really enjoyable to play. So I would like to know what may be the problem or it is just Minecraft its self.
FPS: 60-100

Did you turn the graphics from Fancy to Fast? Also make the render distance to normal.

I have. I usually play on those settings though I was thinking I would be ok with fancy. I'm just looking to see what might be the problem either it being the processor, ram, or anything else. Thanks for the reply.

Exactly same problem with me that I had, I just turned down render distance to normal, you can also mess with some stuff in the video settings.

Your pc specs seems to be fine. Maybe you might need to update a graphics driver. I found this problem with my nvidia drivers. Try changing particles to minimum, smooth lighting off, clouds off and the rest of the things that everyone else has said.

60-100 FPS is bad? I'm happy when I get 30.

60-100 FPS? Stop your whining! I found 3 FPS hard to bare. If I can get it to 30 that's smooth sailing. I can even have an enjoyable game if it's even 20. Nothing fancy and I still get to have my Conquest texture pack installed.

Same here. As long as it's playable, I can handle. But on my laptop, Arma 3 goes around 2-3 FPS, with no enemies around and I'm not moving of shooting. THAT, is unbearable.

That sucks. I also play on laptop and was getting about 3 to 9 fps before I optimized. Have you tried installing Optifine and Razor Game Booster? After that, have you also set the "process priority" of your Java to "high"?

You're complaining about 60 to 100 foes? the best I get is usually 40, and I've dropped to 10 before.

60-100 FPS is a lot... a lag-free game would normally be around 30 FPS, and even 20 would be quite fine.

thats a good rate, it doesnt depend only on your specs, it depends on server youre probably on and to your internet conection. if your internet is good and if you are not on a server and you get 100 thats ok in many servers u might get less thank 50... nothing to worry about
