I've recently bought a new gaming PC and downloaded minecraft on it quite a while ago. I've not played that much, but every now and then i went on a server to play a little with friends, which worked great, no lag, crashes or anything.
Anyways, i recently wanted to play some single player so i made a new world. Surprisingly it took way too long to load, (I'd say it took a minute), and when the world itself had loaded things were quite strange. First when i popped into the world i fell in open space for maybe a minute - which it doesn't on my laptop that is much worse performance wise.
When the chunks were rendered there didn't seem to be a problem since the FPS were fine and their were no lag spikes, but entities were not moving and when I broke blocks it disappeared for a millisecond, not dropping anything until the block disappeared a few seconds later.
I tried to look into what may cause this, but haven't really found anything yet, the only thing I can think of is that for some reason, minecraft doesn't work on my SSD where it is located instead of my HDD where i have my games. I played vanilla singel player on techniclauncer (a modpack launcer) which worked and that was stored on my HDD which makes me belive this might be the case. I wanted to try and change the .minecraft folder located in the appdata folder into my HDD, but it doesn't work or at the very least I can't make it work.
I would really appreciate if someone can help me with this. If you would need more details about my computer etc please ask, I'll probably answer all of them.

hay kapa i have had the same problem mate its just buggy mc there are currently 2 buggy problems iv had
1. chunks load everything works to you start to interact with the world it just stays there... < my work around downloading a spigot server and just playing of that >
this happened on my amd a8 apu at 3.9ghz
2. graphic glitches with high rendering settings anything above 6 or 7 will send the world around you into a blur of objects colors and allsorts of wonderfull graphics failures
work around windows 10 update fixed it for me
this happened on my core i2 and my i7

The first problem sounds like it closely resembles mine. Although the second doesn't. There are no graphical failures for me. Well I should probably upgrade to Windows 10, I've been thinking about it for a while, so maybe it's time.

That is actually exactly what people need to know, except you listed your DVD drive as the SSD.
Maybe your SSD is having issues. Run CrystalDiskMark and tell use your sequential read and write speeds.
My Sequential read: 498.4 MB/s
My Sequential write: 435.6 MB/s
And I edited my specs list so the SSD was correct.

Considering it's set on his SSD, that's unlikely. Unless his processor is absolute junk.

Your laptop may be a bit slow on generating new chunks.
No I don't think so, I have a rather good computer and it generates chunks completely fine on multiplayer.

On multiplayer chunks are already loaded by server, you are not generating them, only loading.

sorry, not the foggiest why this would happen. Its not a thing with the concept of SSD, as I had a laptop with solely SSD (50 GB of it), and minecraft ran just fine.
Maybe check if all the paths are correct on your SSD. the path should be approximately:
C:\Users\(name)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves
with C replaced by whatever the letter of your SSD is.

Hmmm, my path is correct and I've even re-downloaded it a couple of times...
