Skins Not Showing!

For months I've had to live with only seeing Alex and Steve skins, but I'm sick of it. Is there anyway I can see skins again? I know the problem, my skins folder is missing. I've tried deleting Minecraft completely from my computer over and over again but nothing seems to work. How do I fix this?

If This Is Still Happening Maybe Try Uninstall Minecraft Not Delete It And Then Reinstall It

The log says there isn't anything wrong with my Minecraft it seems, just 1 warning.

23:49:20.483Have local file C:\Users\Lance\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\optifine\OptiFine\1.8.9_HD_U_I7\OptiFine-1.8.9_HD_U_I7.jar but don't know what size or hash it should be. Have to assume it's good.

That's with Optifine. Here's without it (This version is 1.14.4 is that means anything)

Anything in the logs while you are starting the game? Looks like it's unable to download required files. Mybe it's firewall issue? Not sure

It’s nothing with firewall. It used to show skins but then I decided to get Optifine and needed Java so I did so. Afterwards, skins stopped showing up.

im pretty sure you just need to create a new folder but with the same name as the normal skin folder ! I'm not sure though since i never had that problem

I had that same problem and while my fix might not work for you, I think it is better to put it out there just in case someone else needs it.

1. I installed an anti-virus on my computer and did a sweep of all the files. Sure enough, there was some stuff lurking in the background. I removed that and it just seemed to work again???

I know it is kinda anti-climatic, however, that is what worked for me.

(For reference, I used Malwarebytes, activate the free trial, and just did complete scan of my system)

Best of Luck!

It didn't seem to work... thanks though! Anyone have any other suggestions?

Unfortunately I can only echo LoJo's words- this issue seems to *usually* be down to something that requires Anti-Viruses to clear. Shouldn't be anything to do with skin folders as far as I'm aware. I advise trialing out some other anti-viruses, making sure you do everything to make sure it cleans things up. Sorry for not being of much extra help!
