I'm currently playing in my online Minecraft world using Aternos Server Hosting (Java Edition) - the world we play in my server was made in 1.17 version with the seed: -5920649356416461809 (but now we're currently playing in version 1.18). It's a private server where only 2 people capacity max to join because I only play with 1 friend. We have built glow squid farm, iron golem farm, and slime farm. The glow squid farm worked so well and doesn't have any problems, the iron golem farm one isn't fully finished yet because we're still struggling to get the villager into the farm but we practically know how to make an iron golem farm so it's not the main problem here. Now the slime farm is what I'm concerned about: i have checked the slime chunk for my world which the seed is -5920649356416461809 (made in 1.17) on the chunkbase.com website, but since slime chunks in every version don't change as long as the seed of the world is the same, so I'm not having any problem with finding slime chunks. I made the slime farm according to this video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW2kGvJ-I-I which has 1 million views and was posted in December 2020. I made my slime farm exactly the same as the guy's slime farm in that video (only difference is that my slime farm is only 3 platforms and the blocks are stone bricks - the platform floors, the rooftops, and the walls). I have lit every single ravine and caves around my slime chunk until i don't see any mobs spawning around that slime chunk (which is one of the conditions for a slime to spawn). My slime farm is below Y -40 level as well (which is also one of the conditions for a slime to spawn). However it's already more than 100 days in my Minecraft world since i finished building the slime farm and still no slimes are spawning in my slime farm (how do i know that no slimes are spawning? --> the chest that linked to the minecart hopper are still empty and no slime balls at all. There's this one thing i suspected that might be the reason slimes aren't spawning in my slime farm: the iron golem that was made for lure. One of the conditions for a slime to spawn in a slime chunk is that there shouldn't be any mobs around the slime chunk, until today i still doesn't know if iron golem is included or not to that slime spawning condition. However the guy on that youtube video shows that his slime farm is working well while there's iron golem as lure so that slime will be attracted to the iron golems and fall to the magma block and slime balls are collected to the minecart hopper and transferred to the chest. This is what have been confusing me since i made the slime chunk. I thought to make a slime spawn in the slime chunk there should not be any nearby mobs, then why do most youtube videos about slime farm have iron golems as lure? Doesn't that violates the slime spawning condition about no nearby mobs around slime chunk so that the slime could spawn? Can you guys please help me how do I make my slime farm works.
