1.2.5 = Slow???
Ok, so here's the story:
I created a new profile on my Minecraft Launcher, and this profile is in 1.2.5 so that I can play some of my old worlds from 1.2.5. I logged in, and Minecraft opened like normally, with 1.2.5 running like it should. I had no other windows open, but when I created a new world on my favorite seed from 1.2.5, I had only 60 fps, which is EXTREMELY LOW for me. On 1.6.2 I get 70+ fps when using Rudoplays and recording with Screenflow 4, so this didn't make any sense. I tried turning particles off, smooth lighting off, clouds off, etc and nothing increased my framerate whatsoever. Strangely, though, when I looked straight up or straight down, my framerate zoomed up to over 300 fps, which is what 1.6.2 usually runs on when I'm not recording or using shaders.

OS: OSX 10.8.4
Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
RAM: 8 GB
Memory: 1600 MHz
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB

60 fps is still good if i play survival instead of creative i get like 10-19 fps my highest was 30 fps :/
For me it's terrible and I'd like to know how to fix it and/or what's causing it

They human eye can't even process more than 60 fps... I don't think you have anything to worry about.
This could probably be explained as simply as "as the game gets older, Mojang optimizes it over time", which could explain why your FPS is lower on an older version.

its accually 37 fps not 60
The human eye can actually process about 200 fps, (most shows on tv are about 150). And the answer to this forum, is that in 1.2.5 the game still ran on 32 bit graphics. And his mac has a 64 bit processor. So thats why he might be "lagging".
Also, I have a 2009 computer and while using optifine (worst settings), I usually get about 10-20 fps. Soooo 60 fps isn't something to be complaining about

10 FPS lower is too "extreme" for you? I normally play with about 140 FPS and when it drops down to 60, I can barely notice..
I've actually gotten used to it. And to me, it feels normal. And im getting a new computer soon!
