Sound not working.. at all.

Whhenever i boot up minecraft everything goes fine except for the sound. whether I use earphones or just have my pc sound system it does not always work. I once had to launch minecraft about five times then it finnaly worked. it is really annoying me and i would appreciate somebody giving me an idea to why this might be happening and how i can fix it. thanks lots!

Most of the time this has something to do with your sounds in your resource folder either not being there or not containing the correct files. Try redownloading Minecraft.
