SPC wand and /brush help

For some reason, the wand you use for WorldEdit doesn't work for me. It doesn't set positions at all. I know i can use //pos1 and all that, but it's incredibly inconvenient. Also, when I try to use, for example, /brush stone 3 or something, it doesn't work. Please help! Why wont it work!?

Permissions issue possibly? Are you able to summon a wand with //wand?
Also, you could try assigning a tool to /farwand.
