Is it possible to make a name dependent texture for spyglass? If so, how?

it should be possible in the 1.21.5 snapshots (and presumably will also be possible in the full release of 1.21.5) using the component condition in an item file.
Do you think it would also solve the problem we currently have with name-dependent tridents?
this isn't something i've really messed with myself, but i'm pretty sure different model types can be nested inside each other, which would fix the issue.
technically yes... but not in vanilla minecraft
I'm not very smart when it comes to stuff like this, but i think you can do it with any item, especially with the new item values or whatever they are.
I'm pretty sure it falls under the same problem we currently have with Tridents, since it has a model (3d) and a texture (2d)
