So, i plan on starting a server. I may make it factions or creative, im not sure which one though. I need help setting up ranks, (Ill use anything, i just dont want to do them ingame.) I have notepad++. Any help is appreciated!

Heyo! I have a few suggestions. Put an interesting twist on factions, if you're going that route. I run a server that just uses the factions plugin for claiming, and we have a lot of other fun stuff like RoleplayCMDS, MagicSpells and Diablo Drops to help CONSTRUCTIVELY have fun. Instead of focusing on getting the most OP gear to try and beat eachother's faces in, we focus on roleplay. We have McMMO so that does get competitive, and you could also learn to use command blocks to do fun server events. I plan on having a crazy boss battle on mine at some point. (If it ever gets fixed, that is, currently everything seems to be breaking...)
Creative servers have never really been my forte or interest, but if you go that route perhaps you could have building contests, skin contests, pixel art contests? Maybe a reward for winning could be having their plot showcased or their name mentioned on the forum page news or something.

It doesn't even matter if it's unique or not nowadays.. just make something really high quality and make sure there are a lot of players. Players online=more players joining.
do something unique creative and factions is not unique if you do do soemthing like factions make the world terrain unique like sky island generation instead of normal terrain
