Stop potion effects with a command?

Hey guys!
I cant find the answer anywhere... so in hope of the answer ima ask you!
In my server i am making classes with perks (potion effects) Ive done them but people can re-pick there classes, what i want to know is HOW do you get rid of the effects! this is to stop people from getting multiple perks and re-picking! Iv'e made it so they loose there inventory as well i just need to know how to stop potion effects!
Please help me out here!

/effect <playername> clear
command block /effect @p (id of effect you used) 10000 0
I like the heal idea if your using a server but if not use the milk because it will make you big and strong.
There is a /heal command with the essentials plugins I believe or simple ol' milk will do.
