So about 10 minutes I was looking a minecraft java edition dark mode texture pack and when I found one and clicked download and stuff it redirected me to a fake website to trick people into thinking their computer had a problem and it already had downloaded tons of images (in which I deleted), but when I opened the tab that was suppose to have the download to the dark mode texture pack it downloaded something (viruses I assume), I did not open them, but I don't know how to delete them or what to do, so it would be nice if someone could help me.

(FYI I am on a Macos)

Lots of the download sites are supported by showing lots of "ads". Unfortunately, those ads tend to be pretty shady and tricky. I upload anything I download to VirusTotal. it scans across a bunch of the AntiVirus software and gives me some confidence in the download.

I don't know if it works on MacOS, but I use AVG to get viruses out of my computer.

You have to agree on every download and specify where they are saved. By default it's your Downloads folder, on Windows at least. A website can't just start downloading a ton of files out of nowhere. Some really scammy websites fake the downloads bar at the bottom just to spook you. Don't worry about it though, as long as you didn't open anything you're fine. (Downloaded files can't execute themselves without you clicking them at least once)

If it was a Planet Minecraft upload, use the flag to report it.

If the "virus" Is an application Go to control panel and You will see "Programs" And under it is a "Uninstall a Program" Click that then find the virus and uninstall it if you have trouble finding it select a program any program then press the first letter that the virus has then when you find it right click it and press uninstall. Hope I helped you

dont click on a download offer through adfly, they usually post fake and malicious downloads for exes disguised as what you want, you just need to wait then click the button in the upper right hand corner of your screen to skip the ad to get to the resource pack you want

I will try to find the pack. Also it seems to be working for some other people but not me. When I clicked the link and clicked the it brought me to another website and when I clicked download it downloaded some pictures and then redirected me to another website where when I went on the tab it downloaded some unknown stuff.

Nevermind, I found it in your account Activity.

The download is not malicious, however Ad.fly tends to serve a lot of misleading ads and doesn't tend to police them very well. We're working to find an alternative for our content to creators to continue to allow them to support themselves financially, but it isn't an easy fix.

For the time being, you can opt not to download content from any content creator using Ad.fly or you can deny any permission requests on Ad.fly pages and click the "Skip Ad" button in the top right. Continuing to click "Deny" on any permission pop-ups and waiting will eventually get you the intended download. You can also encourage content creators to provide a non-monetized download in addition to monetized links.

And sometimes it pops up a random download you should just cancel them rather than downloading them or just read what program it is if its not the program you need then press cancel

Ad.fly Can take you to any website and it may of taken you to a virus maybe. Or that's what I assume
