Today I decided to log into Planet Minecraft to see what's new. When I finished, I looked up "]homestuck" in the texturepacks section. So far, every texturepack I have download is botched in similar ways. Everything except mobs, armor being worn, GUI, and placed heads have changed according to the texturepack. Can someone please help me? Is it because of the fact I'm using 1.5.1?

The things that you described as working seem to be what wasn't changed in the 1.5 update. You must use a 1.5 texture pack because anything lower will not display correctly as the texture pack format has been changed. Using Dinnerbone's Unstiching Tool (found here) on any old packs, will make them useable in 1.5 and above.
So everything except mobs, armor, GUI, and placed heads are different in every pack you use? That's not the way they are supposed to work at all...
Are you using 1.4 packs with 1.5 because the old packs are not compatible with MC 1.5.
