I stopped playing minecraft a long time ago, and after about a million years, I came back after realizing how awesome it was again. Then I found out that there was a new way to install mods that didn't involve spending hours on youtube downloading unrelatd apps and listening to 12-year-old British squeakers give you directions that you inevitably fail to execute correctly. The almighty Forge method.

I installed Forge 1.8 and downloaded/installed NPC mod 1.8 exactly as they told me to, except I didn't have a mods folder before, so I made my own. (The website told me to do that too, in such a case.) Now, it looks like it installed just fine. Forge loads it as a mod and everything. There's just one tiny problem:

All the important NPC tools are pink-and-black blocks whose texture hasn't loadd, and every time I try to use a mod-exclusive item, the game shuts down its internal server and dies.

I've googled diligently so that I might solve this problem, but the only thing I found was this little bit in the comments section:

Distressed minecraft user: "It doesn't work on 1.8!"
Non-distressed minecraft user: "It does too! Your minecraft is cracked!"

This is quite unfortunate, and a bit infuriating. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hey dude! I used to have this problem:

1) Make sure you've got the right version loaded - that could be the problem
2) Maybe the mod requires a "Core" that you don't have? (I used to have it, but I don't remember)
3) Try deleting it, redownloading it, and test it out
4) If that's not it, check if the file is corrupt
5) If that's not it, restart your Minecraft & try again
6) If that's not it, restart your COMPUTER & try again
7) Are you sure this isn't a fake mod? Look inside the file and see if there is actually stuffs
8) If tht's not it, ask the Mod Maker, because it is probably a bug
9) This mod DOES have problems: Lag, Not loading, Rapid Crashing
10) It might just be the mod itself that is corrupt...
