Hi! I'm interested in playing Tekkit, but I'm unsure as to whether it's safe or not. I know many famouse minecrafters have played it like the Yogscast or Noxcrew, but the Tekkit Wiki home page said that Tekkit has had a lot of illegal background and it can steal your account and the like. Can you guys help me out?

Do not download modpacks you don't trust. The base modpacks is safe, but if you find a random modpack and download it... It is like downloading a random file you don't know anything about. Only trust the very good rated packs or packs from trustable people.

Probably kapersky. It is really sensitive to anything that has pontential of hacking.
Tekkit, voltz, and all the modpacks in technic launcher is safe. Do not look on Minecraft wiki or on forums you can't trust that people can make changes to.
Tekkit is safe to use, there is just a lot of bad press about it because the creators didn't ask for permission from the mod authors. There was also rumors about the creators receiving an income from it and not donating at least part of it the the authors. However this was never proven (as far as I know).
Note: I personally do not like tekkit because of the whole not asking permission thing but, too each their own.

yes i own tekkit and voltz and that launcher stuff and i haven't had any problems but my game crashing but that's my crappy 7 year old PC so whatcha gonna do? but yes zetrix it is safe to use
dont worry about it, i have been using tekkit for a while now and i can say that tekkit is safer than using a server...and servers aren't that dangerous unless i have been missing something.
The tekkit wiki is simply swarming with FTB fanboys and fangirls
